Weekly Itinerary

Saturday
Arrive at Limoges airport or railway station and transferred to your accommodation where you can relax for the evening over dinner with members of the course.
 
Sunday
Lunch at 'La Plantade'
Briefing and discussion on cameras, filters, techniques and image editing on the computer and output followed by a late lunch. In the evening relax at your accommodation or dine in a local restaurant.
 
Monday

'Les Cascades de Bialet'
09:00.
Water and woodlands photography.

Lunch between 12:00-14:00.

In the afternoon download of images and editing with
Adobe Elements and Photoshop.

 
Tuesday

'Martel & Rocamadour' - a special day
08:30.
Medieval and historic monument photography.

En route we stop at the ever popular Martel; a medieval town
dating back to before 11c.

In the main square sits the 18th century covered halles surrounded by striking buildings including the gothic 'Hotel de la Raymondie' once the law courts and town's refuge with corner turrets and cannons. The town steeped in history from the general Charles 'The Hammer' Martel and
his defeat against the Saracens c732 to Henry II Plantagenet, father
to Richard the Lion Heart.

Lunch is between 12:00-14:00

The afternoon is spent at Rocamadour *, the second most visited site
in France after the Eiffel Tower, and offers magnificent views of this village built into the side of the high cliffs.

The site is a place of pilgrimage and steeped in beliefs and legends. The sanctuary rests above the village and the whole place is topped
by the castle ramparts.

Time allowing, review of your images and editing with Adobe
Elements and Photoshop or you may decide to dine locally.

 

 
Wednesday

'Macro'
09:30.
Close up photography at 'La Plantade'.

An exciting way to see the world close up in both colour and black & white.

Lunch 12:00 - 14:00.

Review of images and editing with Adobe Elements and Photoshop.

 
Thursday

'Le Grand Cascade'
08:45.

Water photography on a grand scale.

Lunch between 12:00-14:00.

Review of images and editing with Adobe Elements and Photoshop.

Final selection of A3 print.

 
Friday
'Segur-le-Chateau'

09:00
Architecture, water, macro and landscape photography.

Medieval village with narrow streets of half timbered houses and topped by ruined 9th century castle.

Lunch between 12:00-14:00.

In the afternoon final review of the day and download of all your images to 4.7 gb DVD for you to keep.

You can choose your A3 print at anytime during the week.

 
Saturday
Transfer to Limoges airport or railway station.
  
* During August Rocamadour is extremely busy with many religious festivals and, therefore, many people. This makes photography very difficult and during this period it is likely that the whole day will be spent in the historic town of Martel.
